'Santa Rosa' Models

This was a range of resin models produced by John Staggs of (mainly) World War II Royal Navy ships, and also of the ships of the 1942 'Pedestal Convoy' to Malta. I hold stocks of some of these models. All models were to the 'universal' 'Ship Recognition Scales' of 1/1200 (approx 1" = 100'). Other models by 'Santa Rosa'. Regrettably John died on 12th July 2007 - he is sorely missed. At this moment no decision has been taken regarding any future production of his models, but it is unlikely.

The list was last updated on 12th December 2007, and shows what little remains in my stock. I'm leaving retrospective items on the list as a matter of interest.

The following was posted by Steve Cracknell on the 1/1250 Message Board on 8th June, 2008:

Some 2 years before John Staggs died he asked me to clear his workshop when the time came and sell anything left. I now have possesion of John's model and book collection. These will be sold at the next Theale and Welton shows.There are a number of SR models, mainly 1 or 2 of each. If there are any collectors who wish to complete their collection of SR models this may be the last chance to do so. All proceeds from the sale will be going to John's wife.

and later:

Unfortunatly it took me most of the day to catalogue John's books and so the models had to be quickly packed at the end of the day and I do not have a clue as to what is in the boxes. They are in storage at another of John's friends and I will not see them again until the Theale meeting.
