'Wolds Apart' West Gallery Quire
‘Wolds Apart’ regrets to announce the death on 23rd December, 2011, after a long, valiantly fought, battle with ill-health, of its beloved Conductor & Director Gordon Corrick.

He was a verray, parfit, gentil knight ..
Gordon’s Funeral was held at St Alban’s, Hull (where for many years he had been organist) on Friday 30th December, 2011. There was a full church and a Gallery Quire of over thirty singers & instrumentalists. The quire sang ‘Come Ye That Love the Lord’ (to ‘Birmingham’) and Psalm 107 (‘New Poole’) by Knapp, and led the congregation in a rousing rendition of ‘O for a Thousand Tongues to sing ...’ (to ‘Lyngham’). The two congregational hymns were ‘Love Divine, All Love Excelling’ (‘Blaenwern)’ & ‘Abide With Me’ sung, possibly, as it should be sung ... Con welly. The homily was given by the Rev. Steve Foster.
And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes ... Rev 21.4
